Taste Test

Hello Everyone, (Be sure to read this whole post)

As some of you may or may not know I placed 8th out of 75 in the Pull Pork category earlier this year in the 2010 Lakeland Pig Fest. I was pleasantly surprised and pleased.

The Plant City Pig Jam is coming up on November 20th, 2010. I’m competing in this one too. I’m hoping to place higher.

So it’s time to practice. (This sounds so much better than experiment. lol) I’m making my 8th place winning Pulled Pork recipe from earlier this year and two other recipes, (one with a little heat). I would like to get your opinion on which one you like best because I can only enter one.

So here is what I’m going to do. I’m going to offer three slider size Pulled Pork sandwiches for $6.00, one for each recipe, “Traditional”, “New” and “New with heat”. We can work out delivering them to you on Thursday or Friday of this week, November 11th and 12th.

1) List your name, your email address and cell phone number.
2) Tell me how many votes you want to cast. One vote means three slider size sandwiches (One for each of the three recipes. So if you want to cast 2 votes you’ll get six slider size sandwiches, two of each recipe.

Just to make it interesting, the first 20 people to respond will received a free order of collard greens too. As always, I appreciate your support.

  4. Put me in , I will take two votes. One for me and one for Karen Rials. I am out of town on Friday, so hopefully Thursday will work. I have heard about your collard greens but never tasted them. Exciting, wishing you success at the show.

      • Anthony, I don’t see directions anywhere on voting. I liked the traditional. The Heat was not bad but was way too hot for most people.

  7. Hey Anthony,

    I have tasted all three sauces and my favorite is definitely the Heat Sauce. I like the fact that the heat kicks in like an aftershock. I can still taste the flavor in the meat and then hit with the heat!!! I also enjoyed the traditional sauce but not enough to outdue the heat sauce. As for the new sauce it just tasted like something was missing from it. It was a little bland for my taste buds no hint of sweet or heat in it. I appreciate the opportunity for the taste taste and i’m definitely down to do this again if needed.

  8. Hi Anthony, I tested the sauces and I prefer the traditional sauce. I did not like the new sauce and the new one with heat was too hot. Hope this helps.

  9. I am not sure if this is where I am supposed to vote after sampling, but here goes. I liked the sweetness of the original (I am a big fan of sweet barbeque sauce), but I would have to vote for the new with heat. I liked the slow kick it gave, and it wasn’t too hot to handle.

  10. The heat sauce just give heat, it does nothing to help with flavor, the new sauce is good it gives a little sweet taste to the pulled pork.
