Pineapple Glaze For Baked Ham – Gluten Free

I created this sauce because my client needed a Gluten-Free Menu for Easter.  I love the Brown Sugar Glaze i normally use but I wasn’t 100% sure Gluten wasn’t in some of the ingredients.  So using the simplest ingredients, Pineapple Juice and Sugar, I created this.



2 cup Real Pineapple Juice

1 TBS Sugar

Baked Ham already finished



Medium Sauce Pan

Wooden Spoon

Basting Brush



Pre-heat the broiler at 500 degrees.

Place the sauce pan over medium heat.  Add the Pineapple Juice to sauce pan.

Bring it to a boiled and stir with the wooden spoon every so often to keep it from sticking.

The Pineapple Juice will start to thicken after a few minutes and reduce by about half.

This will take about 7 – 10 minutes.

Let the sauce cool for about 5 minutes.

Baste the Ham the Pineapple Glaze using the basting brush all over

Sprinkle the sugar over the glazed ham and place under the broiler for no more then 4 minutes before checking to see if browning is occurring. Leave it under broiler a few more minutes if needed.

Remove and serve.
